Greetings and Blessings,
We are blessed! The Catholic Diocese of Lincoln has 17 new seminarians discerning their vocation at St. Gregory the Great Seminary this fall. We thank God for their willingness to be open to wherever He is calling them. Please keep them in your prayers.
Our vocations from this diocese through the years have been a gift from God. We benefit from that gift every day in our parishes and Catholic schools. As a diocese, we have a responsibility to these young men and to the future of the Church. "Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more." (Luke 12:48)
Our annual Bishop's Appeal for Vocations is now underway. This appeal helps us meet some of the expenses for our seminarians. It helps make their studies, training, and formation for the priesthood possible.
Last year, our expenses were $1.2 million and we were able to meet those with your help. This year, with our increase in numbers, our projected expenses are $1.7 million, and we are again asking for your help.
Please watch my short video message for you below and then consider donating to the Bishop's Appeal for Vocations. Your gift is a blessing to our seminary and our diocese. Again, please pray for our seminarians. We are truly blessed!
Yours in Christ,
Bishop James D. Conley
